An act of love

09.06.2020 | Health

The fight against the coronavirus may be done in different ways. A good example is the incentive by CCR Institute to donate blood at the Grupo CCR concessionaires. The units are promoting several messages to raise awareness, with the motto “Blood donation can’t stop with the pandemic”.
Ar CCR AutoBan, 59 employees went to Santa Casa, in Limeira, and to Colsan, in Jundiaí, to do this important action of solidarity, which helped around 236 people. Carlos Pasqualeto, from the concessionaire, talks about the importance of the initiative. “I have been a blood donor for a long time. Currently, we are going through a very difficult moment, when all of us shall take the required care. But other diseases and the accidents have never gone away and many people need the donation from me and from you. If you are not a donor yet, reflect about it, because we may save many lives”, he says.
At CCR SPVias, employees gathered to donate at the Blood Bank in Itapeva. Ariane Souza, first responder at the concessionaire, says that she has been a donor for many years. “I extended the donation invitation to some work colleagues and the response was great. We know about the importance of the act during the pandemic, when donation fell significantly. One blood bag may save up to four lives, and the procedure is very simple: you just need to present yourself as a volunteer at any blood bank. To donate blood is an act of love”, says the employee.
