Caminhos para a Cidadania [Pathways to Citizenship] proposes more interactivity and innovation

14.02.2020 | Education and Citizenship

Pedagogical advice, didactic material updated according to the Brazilian Common Core Curriculum (BNCC) and interactive and innovative activities. For 15 years, Escola Oscar Ferreira de Godoy, in Santa Isabel (SP), has had these benefits offered by Caminhos para a Cidadania [Pathways to Citizenship], a program developed by Instituto CCR.

For Elisangela de Ávila Queluz, the school's pedagogical advisor, working with us allows interdisciplinary development between the curriculum components. “The proposed material offers support to teachers in class planning, contributing to students' awareness of the importance of becoming a conscious citizen, both of their rights and duties. They are multipliers at school, at home and on the street and they observe what is going on around them. Often, these students talk and teach their parents, relatives and friends about respecting traffic rules”, explains Elisangela.

The program used a methodological hybrid teaching proposal, using technology to train teachers and students. This is an innovative initiative, which will be improved over the course of this year. In addition, the city of Santa Isabel is building the local curriculum, according to the BNCC and the São Paulo curriculum, and one of the skills present is digital culture.

About Caminhos para a Cidadania [Pathways to Citizenship] Distance Learning program (EaD), the pedagogical advisor explains that it was a very big and innovative challenge, as not all schools in the municipality have an accessible computer room. “We were used to physical didactic material, on-site training and we were adapting. CCR NovaDutra's advisors have always supported us in the training and feedback of the program, contributing to the end of the school year”, says the pedagogical advisor.

The proposal of Caminhos para a Cidadania [Pathways to Citizenship] website was built in an interactive way, contemplating the trainings, the material in download to be developed with the students, as well as suggestions of videos and lesson plans.

“Participating in distance education training was certainly a learning experience that reflected on how to rethink the role of education and how much digital culture is already a present tool in the lives of students and teachers. It is really necessary to insert it in the educational context so that there is an understanding of its importance. For 2020, the proposal is to have a routine focused on training, planning, accompanying and monitoring the program”, emphasizes Elisangela.
